TSG Cam Image Processing System
The TSG digital image processing unit is designed for use as an integral component in industrial
real-time x-ray NDT radiography inspection systems. The many image enhancement features
may also make this unit useful for other video processing applications. The unit accepts a range
of input formats from RS-170 (standard video) to TTL-2048x1536, and provides various
operator selected enhancements to the signal or a captured image. The system’s output formats
range from RS-170-(640x480) to TTL-2048x1536 and SVGA-1024x1024. Captured images
can also be stored on hard disk, optional CD or DVD disk, or downloaded as standard TIF
format files to floppy disks, memory sticks, and removable memory cards for remote viewing using
one of many computer graphics programs available.
The TSG image processor is the menu driven operator interface. The operator can use many
different pointing devices to interface the image processor. The system is supplied with an
optical mouse or equal to perform this function. This interface can also be operated with a touch
screen device (optional). The touch screen allows the operator to simply point to the desired
function or menu and activate it by pressing the monitor screen. This feature improves the
operator’s efficiency in selecting image enhancement functions, and makes the unit more suited
to production applications.

The following is a brief description of TSGCam digital video image processing system.
Processor module
The main processor module contains the system’s central processor, the video
-digital processorunit, and the main power supply. All of the systems other components are connected directly or
indirectly to the input and output connections located on the main processor module.
The processor module may be supplied in a tabletop configuration, or in a rack-mounted
version. The rack-mounted version is suitable for installation in a standard nineteen-inch control
console rack.
Also contained within the processor module are the system’s hard drive memory unit,
aCD/DVD read/write drive and a standard 3.5-inch floppy drive. The hard drive unit contains the
system’s main operating program, and may be used for storage of captured images. The
CD/DVD drive and the floppy drive allow the transfer of images to a portable format for viewing
at remote locations.
Keyboard
A standard operator’s keyboard is supplied in either a tabletop or a rack
-mounted versiondepending on the customer’s application and mounting requirements. The keyboard allows the
input of text information to be added to the captured images.
Control monitor
A color monitor provides the system’s primary operator control interface. The
optional touchscreen module is connected to the system’s main processor, and allows operation of the image
processor through a series of on-screen menus. These pull-down menus are described further in
the operation section of this manual.Video converter module. The video converter module is
connected to the digital video output of the main processor module. This unit provides a
conversion from digital to standard RS-170 video format allowing the system’s output images to
be viewed on a standard high-resolution image monitor.
